Course Description

This course will review the mission, vision, purpose and objectives of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Candidates will explore the mission and purpose of the Connectional and local church.

Course Objectives

It is the objective to identify the purpose, mission and objective of the African Methodist

Episcopal Church:

1.     Review the Historical Statement

2.     Explore Part II of the African Methodist Episcopal Church’s Discipline

3.     Examine the purpose and objectives of the African Methodist Episcopal Church

Participants Obligations/Requirements

Each student is expected to:

1.     Arrive to class on-time

2.     Participate in class discussion demonstrating preparation.

3.     Read assigned readings

4.     Participate in group projects and discussions

5.     Turn in assignments on time

 

Measurable Outcome

Each student of group should be able to:

1.   Identify and explain the critical milestones in the formation of the African Methodist

      Episcopal Church with 90% accuracy

2.   Explain Apostolic Succession and Ritualism with 85% accuracy

3.   Recall the General Rules with 85% accuracy

4.   Quote the African Methodist Episcopal Church’s mission statement with 100% accuracy.
